Outdoor Workouts Video: #GetInMotion outside this summer
Outdoor workouts are a great way to stay on top of your fitness goals while soaking up some vitamin D. With the warmer days now upon us, we've asked Kemo Mariott to share with us a few of his favourite moves. Kemo runs Holistic Motions, a personal training studio in Mayfair, where he focuses on whole body workouts and promotes a healthy lifestyle.
Try out these outdoor friendly exercises, 30 seconds of each, 4 times through.
Elevated Kickthrough
This is a challenging core exercise. With your hands planted and shoulders moving through large ranges, your pecs and shoulder muscles are getting a good workout too. Keep your glutes solid to ensure that your back doesn’t extend excessively. A nice long and controlled kick through will challenge your core muscles further - getting you beach ready in no time.
Elevated Squat Thrust
Generating power through the glutes and hamstrings, this is a great move to speed up your metabolism. Elevating the hips once again gives your shoulders a good workout as your legs drive their flexion and extension.
Rotational Step Up
In terms of co-ordination, this is a challenging move. The rotation of the legs is actually a great way to stimulate rotation through the spine, making this a great core workout. The gluts are obviously driving a lot of power and movement too. This makes this exercise a great metabolic booster
